To be honest, there aren’t really any. Other than the usual challenge of the benefit of hindsight when an investment does well, why didn’t we put more in, but generally there aren’t any big cock-ups. If anything, we follow the Warren Buffet approach of being greedy when others are fearful and fearful when others are greedy.
Whilst not an exact translation of the theme, COVID was a case in point where our investments tanked, but as I was still working and we weren’t spending it on anything else, we capitalised on investing at the bottom of the market. If you can afford to wait, what goes down does come back up, but you have to hold your nerve.
