If you were Chancellor, what would you do?

Not specifically Chancellor, but someone who could sway government policy – I would put basic household finance on the school curriculum, including how to understand and interpret finance deals. Generally speaking, people’s knowledge of what they’re paying for almost anything is dire and a huge contributor to household’s overspending.

I would also bring back home-economics – learning to cook from my Mum means we eat well, and cheaply. In support of this, I’d tax ultra-processed food and ready meals to support an overall healthier lifestyle. I’m a big fan of being a net contributor to society, and being healthy and not relying on hand-outs is part of this.
