Is this book for you?

This book is for everyone – although it makes sense, and will have more leverage or impact to those earlier in their careers than later, but you’re never too old to learn. As we planned ‘D-Day’ – or the point where we actually stopped work – there was a theme in conversations with others, namely “how did you do this”?

Actually there were several other common responses along the lines of “I wish I could do that” or “it’s OK for you, you’re clearly rich” – and in reality it’s down to some very basic principles – Spend less than you earn, and invest the rest wisely. The trick is applying that simple concept to your life, as there are many obstacles ahead of you, and a lot of mis-leading information out there. I can’t guarantee you exactly the same success as we’ve had as everyone’s circumstances are difference, but I will challenge your beliefs and suggest some alternative ways to approach finance that will give you the basis of a financial plan that will make your chances of success of financial security much higher.

As I’ve outlined in my biog, I’m not a maths genius, did not inherit millions from a long-lost relative, nor invented a wonder-drug. Particularly I do not claim to have the secret of a guaranteed side-hustle that can make you thousands without lifting a finger. The only secret I can share with you is that such a solution to easy wealth simply does not exist. What you do need is some basic knowledge (about how finance and related disciples work), and hard work (or the courage of your convictions to build a plan and stick to it)

Finally, just so you’re not put off by the level of effort required, I can share that it’s not all about super-frugal saving and deprivation as some approaches will have you believe. You can have fun and enjoy yourself along the journey, but you need to understand the impact of financial decisions you make as you go along.

So whilst this book is in production, this website is to start promoting and sharing the concept, and also for you to get an opportunity to secure a discount by registering your interest. But why should you trust me, and what are my credentials as a ‘financial coach’? In the spirit of a previous employer, we had a concept lf ‘steal shamelessly’ – particularly if it came to format and presenting an idea. So, along the lines of the Daily Mail’s ‘Me and My Money’ column, I have written a summary of what makes me tick financially. – You can read it here: LINK TO FOLLOW
